Levels from one swing

Type the high and the low of the move you are measuring, pick the trend, and both ladders are drawn at once.

Measure one clean move
Pick the swing everyone can see on the chart — one impulse, high to low. Levels drawn off an ambiguous move are ambiguous levels.
Retracement, then extension
The first ladder says how far the pullback may run. The second says how far the leg after it may reach.
The trend picks the direction
In an uptrend the levels fall from the high; in a downtrend they rise from the low. One switch, opposite ladders.

Reading the ladder

Fibonacci levels do not predict anything. They mark the places enough traders are watching that price tends to react there.

The 61.8% level does the work
It is the ratio the market watches most, which is a large part of why it holds as often as it does. The 50% mark is not a Fibonacci number at all, and matters for the same reason — enough traders draw it that price reacts there.
A level is a zone, not a line
Price rarely turns on the exact figure. Treat each level as an area to watch for a signal, and wait for the candle that confirms it rather than placing an order on the number itself.
Confluence beats a single ratio
A retracement that lands on a prior high, a moving average or a round number is worth far more than one sitting alone in open space. Use these levels to narrow where you look, not to decide on their own.
